Assoc Prof Jamus Jerome Lim asked the Minister for Trade and Industry from 2018 to date (a) how many complaints on alleged price hikes and potential anti-competitive behaviour has the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) received annually; and (b) how many investigations on potential anti-competitive behaviour has CCCS initiated on its own.
Mr Gan Kim Yong: From 2018 to 2021, CCCS received an average of about 200 complaints on alleged anti-competitive behaviour annually.
From its own surveillance, CCCS has also launched 15 investigations and market studies into potential anti-competitive behaviours.
